One of my favorite annual events in Los Angeles is the Labyrinth Of Jareth. Inspired by the masquerade scene in Jim Henson's Labyrinth, LOJ is a weekend full of fairies, goblins, mischief, mayhem, fantasy, and revelry.
Here's a description from the official LOJ website: The Labyrinth of Jareth is a Masquerade Ball based on Venetian Histories, Celtic Faerie and Goblin Lore. Lost within the borders of chaos and light, nobles dance among the Fey while goblins wait with hungry eyes in the wings of their court. Some of the most amazing fantasy artists, costumers and special effect crews participate in bringing a diverse host of creatures and mythologies alive each year within the annual LOJ Fantasy Masquerade.
I look forward to Labyrinth Ball every year! Here's a picture of me at LOJ 2010 dressed as Belle from Beauty And The Beast. If you have any interest in fantasy, fairy tales, costumes, or art, I highly recommend this uniquely magical event!
